Relational aesthetics is an art theory and practice that emerged in the 1990s, primarily associated with French curator and critic Nicolas Bourriaud. This concept places a strong emphasis on the interactive and social aspects of art. Relational aesthetics suggests that the meaning and value of an artwork are created through the interactions and relationships between the artwork, the artist, and the audience.
