This technique allows for the creation of delicate and finely-detailed scenes, portraits, or patterns in relief. Cameo glass has been historically used for creating decorative vases, bowls, and other ornamental objects. It reached its height of popularity during the Roman Empire and experienced a revival during the Art Nouveau period in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
